BOULEVARD VOLTAIRE

Passion for cycling. Love for beautiful things.

At the end of 2018, Voltaire was born from a meeting between two entrepreneurs, including Grégoire Lieurade, former product manager at Porsche. A discussion immediately began about their passion for cycling and the obstacles to its development. The obvious conclusion was clear: together they would create the electric bike brand of their dreams.

From 2019 to present

Our road

2019–2021: R&D and industrialization
The company was founded in March 2019. The founders surrounded themselves with engineers to develop the first prototypes. A mechanical team is responsible for designing the motorcycles and developing the engine system, while the technical team designs the on-board electronics. The first prototype was created in October 2019. This led to a series of improvements, and the second prototype was created in June 2020, immediately after the first lockdown. After a phase of industrialization, the pre-series will be released in early 2021.
2021–2022: arrival on the market
After a successful pre-order campaign, the first Voltaire bikes will be delivered in April 2021. The brand enjoyed immediate success and established itself in this competitive market by offering high-end products and an exceptional customer experience. It also has the best Trustpilot rating among electric bike brands, with 4.7/5. This success has attracted prestigious partnerships, such as Porsche, Claudie Pierlot, Sezane, and Le Bristol hotel.
2023: acceleration and internationalization
After fundraising at the end of summer 2022, the company will double its workforce in the fall to accelerate at all levels. It ends the year with a collaboration with the famous Selfridges store in London for its UK launch. It heads into 2023 with more than 100 points of sale in France and the ambition to expand rapidly into other major European countries. In the spring, the range expands with the arrival of the Legendre model, while the brand opens its flagship store at 21 rue de Rivoli.
